Start with movements, not Instagram
Squat, hinge, press, pull, condition. If those five are covered, you do not need a seven-station jungle. A rack or half-rack, a bench, a small set of dumbbells, and enough rubber to protect the floor will out-train a room stuffed with unused machines.
Austin-specific constraints
Older Central Austin houses have 8-foot ceilings and soft upstairs floors. That kills some bar work and some deadlift volume unless we plan for it. New-build suburbs in Round Rock and Hutto often have a bonus room over the garage that gets hot. Cooling and flooring come before chrome.
